EAC 2025-2026

The PR-INBRE Annual Retreat and External Advisory Committee Meeting brought together researchers, faculty, and students from across Puerto Rico – INBRE Institutions for a dynamic exchange of ideas and innovation. Over three days, participants shared cutting-edge research, explored advancements in biomedical science, and strengthened collaborations that support the growth of scientific discovery and education on the island.

Opening remarks highlighting the vision and leadership of the PR-INBRE's research initiatives. Program leaders presented an overview of PR-INBRE and its core components, including administration, instrumentation, education, bioinformatics, and evaluation efforts.

This session was focused on diverse biomedical research projects, showcasing innovative studies in cancer, drug development, tissue engineering, and advanced detection technologies. Researchers from multiple institutions presented cutting-edge findings addressing major health challenges and scientific advancements.

Students delivered brief, high-impact presentations summarizing their research in areas such as microbiota restoration, toxicology, natural products, and cancer therapeutics. These rapid talks showcased emerging talent and the next generation of scientists.

Guest speakers presented on advancing treatments for cystic fibrosis, cancer genomics and electrochemical biosensing technologies, followed by interactive discussions to deepen scientific exchange.

The retreat concluded with a session recognizing investigators productivity and student achievements. This closing segment celebrated excellence and reinforced the program’s commitment to research development and education.
