Special Topics in PROTEOMICS II

This course will explain in detail the techniques in Proteomics used more frequently in the Proteomic laboratory. Among the techniques to be covered include: isotopic labeling with Tandem Mass Tag (TMT) reagents and Label Free quantitation. The course will introduce the technique of liquid chromatography coupled to Mass spectrometry (Nano-LC). In addition, the course will cover other experimental techniques such as: Experimental design, data base searching, protein identification and quantitation, use of bioinformatics to analyze data sets. The course has theory and practice components. Is directed to people with experience in the laboratory, with certain knowledge of work with proteins, and students that want to do research work in proteomics.
